Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the ShopJune.ai Chrome browser extension and related services ("Service") operated by ShopJune.ai ("we," "us," or "our"). By installing the extension or creating an account, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please uninstall the extension and do not create an account.

1. Description of Service

ShopJune.ai is a Chrome browser extension that uses artificial intelligence to generate recipes from text you select, food images you see, and recipe links you find. The Service also generates recipe header images, organizes recipes in a sidepanel, provides Cook Mode (step-by-step guidance with timers), per-step recipe notes, unit conversion (US/Metric), and a macro summary bar. The Service creates weekly meal plans with USDA-backed nutrition estimates and grocery price estimates derived from government data sources, enables grocery cart creation via Instacart, and allows recipe and meal plan sharing via public pages and social platforms. A referral program allows users to invite others and earn bonus recipe credits.

2. User Accounts

• An account is required to use the Service. You can sign in with Google, Apple, or email and password.
• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You must provide accurate information when creating your account.

3. Subscription Plans and Billing

• Meal planning and meal plan sharing are available on all tiers, subject to the limits above.
• Paid plans are billed monthly or annually through Stripe. Annual plans save approximately 17% compared to monthly billing. All payment processing is handled by Stripe.
• New subscribers may be eligible for introductory pricing (up to 50% off the first month). Introductory offers are one-time, non-transferable, and subject to availability.
• You can manage your subscription (upgrade, downgrade, or cancel) through the Stripe Customer Portal accessible from the extension.
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Unused credits are retained as grandfathered credits until used.
• We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee for new paid subscriptions. If you are not satisfied, contact us within 30 days of your first payment for a full refund.
• No refunds are provided for partial billing periods beyond the 30-day money-back guarantee window.
• Prices are subject to change with notice.

4. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

• Recipes and meal plans are generated by artificial intelligence and are not reviewed by professional chefs, nutritionists, dietitians, or medical professionals.
• Nutrition estimates are primarily derived from the USDA FoodData Central database, with AI used as a fallback for ingredients not found in USDA data. Regardless of source, nutrition information is an estimate and should not be relied upon for medical dietary planning.
• Grocery price estimates are derived from government data sources (Bureau of Labor Statistics and USDA Economic Research Service) and are approximate. Price estimates are not generated by AI. Actual prices at your local retailer may vary.
• ALLERGEN WARNING: You must independently verify all ingredients in every recipe. AI may fail to identify, misidentify, or omit allergens. ShopJune.ai is not responsible for allergic reactions resulting from AI-generated recipes.
• ShopJune.ai is not responsible for adverse health effects from following AI-generated recipes, nutrition estimates, or meal plans.
• AI-generated header images are artistic representations and may not accurately depict the final dish.
• AI may occasionally produce inaccurate, incomplete, or unexpected output.

5. Recipe and Meal Plan Sharing

• When you share a recipe, its full content (title, ingredients, instructions, header image, source domain, and nutrition facts) is published to a public URL accessible to anyone with the link.
• When you share a meal plan, a sanitized snapshot is published to a public URL accessible to anyone with the link. Shared meal plan links expire automatically after 30 days.
• You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share content derived from third-party sources.
• Shared recipes persist even after account deletion. Shared meal plan links expire after 30 days regardless of account status.

6. Referral Program

• Each account receives a unique referral code that can be shared with others.
• When a new user installs ShopJune.ai using your referral link, you earn 5 bonus recipe credits and the referred user receives 50% off their first month of a paid subscription.
• Referral benefits are subject to change or discontinuation at any time.
• We reserve the right to revoke referral credits and suspend accounts engaged in referral abuse, fraud, or self-referral.

7. Instacart Integration

• Grocery cart creation via Instacart is provided as a convenience feature.
• ShopJune.ai may participate in Instacart's affiliate or partner program.
• Product availability, pricing, substitutions, and delivery are determined entirely by Instacart.
• Instacart's own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy govern your use of their platform.

8. Grocery Price Data

• Grocery price estimates in meal plans use public government data sources such as the Bureau of Labor Statistics and USDA Economic Research Service.
• Price estimates are approximate and may not match current pricing at your local store.
• Product availability, pricing, and selection are determined by third-party retailers and grocery providers.

9. Intellectual Property

• The ShopJune.ai service, branding, and software are owned by ShopJune.ai.
• AI-generated recipes produced using your inputs are provided for your personal use.
• You retain rights to any original content you provide (such as selected text or uploaded images).

10. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the extension or its backend services
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the Service
• Circumvent recipe credit limits or subscription restrictions
• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
• Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Service or its output

11. Limitation of Liability

Please read this section carefully.

• The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
• ShopJune.ai specifically disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
• We are not liable for the accuracy, completeness, or safety of AI-generated content, including allergen information, nutrition estimates, and cooking instructions.
• We are not liable for the accuracy of grocery price estimates. Price data is sourced from public government databases and may not reflect current prices at your local retailer.
• USDA nutrition data is provided on an "as-is" basis from public government sources. We do not warrant its accuracy or completeness for any particular ingredient or recipe.
• We are not liable for third-party service availability or actions (Instacart, Stripe, or AI providers).
• Our total aggregate liability is limited to the amount you have paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
• In no event shall ShopJune.ai be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ShopJune.ai from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

13. Termination

• You can delete your account at any time from the extension settings. Data removal is described in our Privacy Policy.
• ShopJune.ai may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
• Sections on limitation of liability, indemnification, and intellectual property survive termination.

14. General

• Changes: We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the extension or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
• Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.
• Entire agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and ShopJune.ai regarding the Service.
